Cast: Paul Bettany, Dennis Quaid, Tyrese Gibson, Kate Walsh
Director: Scott Stewart
What it’s about: When God loses faith in mankind, He sends his archangels to destroy His human creations. Humanity’s only hope lies in the hands of archangel Michael (Bettany) and a group of unassuming diners.
Why it’s hot: Paul Bettany is absolutely believable as an angel and we must mention how cool his angel wings are! The rest of the supporting cast add sufficient punch to the storyline and we think that it’s pretty refreshing to see Kate play a role other than her one in surgeon’s scrubs. The scenes where the action really begins are definitely something to watch too.
Why it’s not: The film’s premise is a little far-fetched and after the first half of the movie, there are some bits that drag along considerably. There really should have been more fighting sequences since this movie has been touted as an action one. We also think that the editing was a little too choppy for our liking especially when the movie switches from one character to another.
Verdict: It’s worth a watch to see Paul in action if you can wait out the parts where nothing much goes on. Overall, Legion is quite entertaining but be prepared for slightly cheesy scenes towards the end.
