This alternative rock band formed in London released their sixth studio album Battle for the Sun in June of 2009. It was recorded over three months at Metal Works Studios in Toronto with producer David Bottrill and mixed in London by My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails supremo Alan Moulder. The album is startling, alive, vital and definitely a boundary-vaulting Placebo record.

Pavilion’s 2nd Anniversary bash was spilling over with sweet rewards and prize giveaways. Eager shoppers got a chance to win prizes worth over RM100,000, so throngs of ardent shoppers gathered early Sunday morning. 2000 colourfully decorated cupcakes and goodie bags bursting with gifts and vouchers were also given away.

It is official, G-Six (the ultimate penthouse club) launched with a banging party on the roof of The Gardens Mall. It was packed to the brim with party people, industry figures, invited guests and of course members of the media living it up at this new hangout for KL-ites.

The lounge is nested on the roof and is the first entertainment outlet of its kind at The Gardens; located on level six which explains the name. There is a sense of exclusivity away from the stressors of city life.

Hot peeps invaded The Library on a sunny Saturday to bring deserving ladies a much awaited ‘Girly Day Out’. We participated in...well...girly activities. Scrumptious canapés, delectable tarts were served along with a limitless flow of creative cocktails. Meanwhile manicure sessions were going on while a jewellery workshop was taking place. It was quite a perfect afternoon to break away from daily stressors and unwind with gal pals.

America’s lifestyle footwear giant SKECHERS celebrated their grand launch at Pavilion Center Court to mark a new vision and also to introduce their Southeast Asia ambassador, G.E.M an up and coming Hong Kong artist. Many local artistes graced the event as well: Ben Ibrahim, Belinda Chee, Cindy Chen, Isma Hanum, Raj Kumar, Tony Eusoff and Hannah Lo was the emcee for the day.

Besides an explosive runway showing that featured Farah Khan, Yves Saint Laurent, Pucci and Bernard Chandran; the evening was a pinnacle Gala that culminated in the prestigious M-IFA Awards presentation – the Malaysian fashion industry’s equivalent to the Oscars.

Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah was the royal guest of honour at the Hall of Fame Gala presented by The Elegance Club in conjunction with the Malaysia International Fashion Week 2009.

During the Hall of Fame Gala, The Elegance Club’s latest bedazzling jewellery collection took centrestage; aptly teamed with sophisticated dresses and gwons by Hong Kong designer Dorian Ho and our local designers such as Tangoo, Key Ng, and Jovian Mandagie with Ling-N couture footwear by Karina Ng.

This Halloween wasn’t spooky or gloomy at the Veuve Cliquot Yelloween party held at the Neo Global Tapas & Luxe Lounge. Instead, it was bubbly, filled with glammed up costumes and magnums of free-flowing Veuve Cliquot champagne all night long.
