Wow this is quite a stinger! Any studio would kill to finance a Steven Soderbergh film but as soon as Annapurna Pictures heard that his new film, Side Effects, would star Blake Lively, they promptly pulled out of the project.
Strange, though, because despite rumours of Blake playing the lead nothing has been signed or announced.
Will Blake stick around to play it? Even if she doesn’t, she’s got stiff competition for the role of a pill-popping hot mess. Who exactly? Oh, just two of this year’s Academy Award contenders for Best Actress – Michelle Williams and Rooney Mara.
