What it’s about: The Darkest Hour tells the story of five young people who find themselves struggling to survive inMoscow after being attacked by extraterrestrial beings in the form of strange lights.
Why it’s hot: The aliens in the movie are not your stereotypical kind, which makes it rather interesting to watch. This movie is loaded with action that you will find somewhat entertaining once you start rooting for the characters’ survival.
Why it’s not: There’s really not much to fault in this movie, as the effects are nicely done and there actually is a decent storyline. However, we’re not sure if it’s extremely memorable. The scene with the aliens could have been more suspenseful.
Verdict: We think the concept is inventive and the film captures the apocalyptic vibe brilliantly – pretty impressive stuff, considering the fact that there’s no blood and gore involved here. A must-watch if apocalypse movies are your cup of tea.
