The Muppets
Cast: Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper
Director: James Bobin
What’s it about: Walter is the world’s biggest Muppet fan and his brother Gary (Segel) alongside his girlfriend Mary (Adams) must team up to save the now defunct Muppets and their theatre from an evil oil tycoon.
Why it’s hot: It’s the first Muppets theatrical release in 12 years and all your favourite characters such as Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy are back! A must watch if you grew up watching the Muppets and often asked yourself, “Whatever happened to my favourite childhood programs?”
Why it’s not: The bits where the humans burst out in a sudden song can be rather annoying at times. But if you survived Enchanted, this will not be an issue.
Verdict: The entire movie feels like a reunion of the Muppet characters and in true Muppets fashion, you’ll spot a lot of celeb cameos. While there’s no doubt that the young ones will be highly amused, those who love the Muppets will find this a real treat.
