In a nutshell: A local indie band with a name as funky as their sound. After winning a slew of band battles, the group scored a chance to record a 12-track album when they won the Volkswagen Polo Rocks Competition in 2010.
High notes: Pop rock may be all about catchy and memorable tunes, Bob’s approach is a lot more personal. Most of the tracks off this record take us on a journey, mostly through our friendships, which can be felt most with ‘Truth Be Told.’ But Bob’s more than just about music to reminisce to. The instrumental-heavy ‘Daydream’ makes for smooth music on a Sunday drive.
Low notes: While Bob’s potential reaches to the sky, the band seems like they’re still finding their footing when it comes to their sound.
Verdict: Fortunately having a name that’s a mouthful does not translate into their music. We recommend you give these guys a listen, even if only to support a very deserving local act.
