David Guetta
Nothing but the Beat
(Warner)

In a nutshell: The party rock DJ who looks like an extra from One Tree Hill returns with an album that is guaranteed to irritate your mama, her mama, their dogs and their dogs’ fleas.

High notes: You always know what you’re going to get with David. Unlike some of his more snotty pals, he isn’t going to worry about his music having the lifespan of a pea. An expert at making music that makes you feel like a million bucks for four minutes, his big thumping Euro disco beats and melodies will get you going like a krumping champion. Never mind that after the four minutes are over, you may feel like year-old soap.

Low notes: Let’s go with the fact that he looks like a country music washout.

Verdict: While other DJs don’t mind hiding behind the decks and headphones, David has always been more interested in being the life and love of the party. And he’s willing to thicken the cheese to climb his way into the spotlight. With a conveyor belt of hits with Flo Rida and Rihanna, he has proven that his cheese sells by the bucket loads. He’s brought out the big guns for this one too, from Jennifer Hudson to Nicki Minaj. He’s not kidding about world domination, y’all.
