Cast: Voices of Robin Williams, Elijah Wood, Ava Acres
Director: George Miller
What it’s about: In the sequel to Happy Feet, Mumble struggles to help his son, Erik, find his inner talent but that’s the least of his problems. As a powerful force threatens the home of the penguins, Mumble, his family and friends must find a way to save their quarters.
Why it’s hot: The creators have kept some of the much-loved characters from the first film like Lovelace and Ramon (both voiced by Robin Williams), but there are also plenty of new ones to fall in love with. Antarctica’s tiniest creatures, Will and Bill The Krill, voiced byHollywood’s biggest names – Brad Pitt and Matt Damon – will be audience favourites.
Why it’s not: For a film titled Happy Feet Two, the tone of the film is far too dreary and there’s a lot more sad singing than (happy) feet-tapping.
Verdict: If you loved Happy Feet, you will most likely enjoy every little bit of this sequel, even if it’s not as great as its predecessor. Just remember to watch this family-friendly animation in 3D because the details in the graphics will blow you and the little ones away.
