Cast: Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Murphy
Director: Andrew Niccol
What it’s about: In In Time, people stop ageing at 25 and after that, they are given a year to live. You can earn more time by working multiple jobs but everything cost time as well. For example, you can buy a cup of coffee for four minutes of your life. Intrigued? We were.
Why it’s hot: We love the initial concept of the movie. It’s fresh, new and pretty original. But that’s not the only thing pretty about the film. Other than the very fine J.T. and Cillian, there’s plenty of eye candy here to be appreciated – Alex Pettyfer, Matthew Bomer, Olivia Wilde… the list is quite extensive.
Why it’s not: What starts of as a futuristic plot that’s brimming with potential turns out to be an old-fashioned Bonnie and Clyde (mis)adventure complete with a female lead who has daddy issues. Sigh.
Verdict: In Time has its moments of brilliance but too many seconds are wasted on storylines that do little to contribute to the bigger picture. Watch this if you have 109 minutes to spare.
